    &lt;span style=&quot;FONT-SIZE: 12pt&quot;&gt;A number of our clients have asked us about the 7% withholding tax that South Carolina does for non-residents.  We figured it would be beneficial to our clients to cover this topic for others (non-residents) considering selling their property here in South Carolina. Yes there is a 7% withholding tax on the net gain of the sale.  This only applies for non-residents though. Many people don&#039;t understand that when they are a non-resident of South Carolina and they sell a property here there is a 7% withholding tax. The amount (your net gain) is given to your attorney by you at closing. Then, at the end of the year you can file a South Carolina tax return, and any excess that was withheld will be refunded to you. If you would like more information on this we would suggest that you speak with your accountant or attorney about this. &lt;/span&gt;

    Myrtle beach international airport had more people-traffic through last month than this time last year which shows we are growing, and soon they will start planning on enlarging the airport to be ready for when we are at full capacity. We can&#039;t wait, this is an important part of our growth. Florida exploded with people from other countries buying property up like there&#039;s no tomorrow, and we can do the same here.     Fall bike week just ended, the weather was not the best, it rained on and off, but it was the great on Sunday. People lined up along highway 17 on there golf carts to watch the activities. It is sad when the bikes leave, although you can hear yourself think again. However, to think that many people have a hobby and can come together from all over is a wonderful thing. That is Myrtle Beach for you; we have all sorts of activities going on year round. That is why they call it Paradise and why Myrtle Beach was voted the # 1 beach by Yahoo Travel in 2007. Everything else is just second best.

    The travel channel did a list of the best beaches in 2006 and Myrtle Beach ranked in the top 10! Being grouped with luxurious and exciting getaways like Maui, Hawaii and South Beach Florida is a great compliment. For all those people who love long walks along the shore, we also ranked high for our large beach area with 60 miles of white sand.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Also in the Golf Digest, Myrtle Beach was ranked number one in golf home communities in the U.S.! They stated that with the reasonable prices and an average of 290 playable days out of the year ranks us the highest. Recognizing popular golf communities like Barefoot Resort &amp;amp; Golf and Tidewater Golf Club &amp;amp; Plantation and a newer private community like the Grande Dunes.
